Tom Boozer, age 72, formerly of Naples, Texas unexpectedly passed away on Saturday October 17, 2015 at his home in Anna, Texas. He was born July 22, 1943 in Naples, Texas and graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1961. He then went on to earn a Banking and Finance degree from North Texas State University (now University of North Texas). After several years in the real estate and insurance business, Tom pursued his real passion of woodworking and remodeling.

He spent his life in pursuit of his creative endeavors. A skilled craftsman, he could turn pieces of wood into fine cabinets and furniture with seemingly little effort. He could take any firearm apart and re-build it better than it was before. Craftsmanship, however, will not be the gift for which he is remembered. Everyone who knew Tom will remember him for his calm, peaceful demeanor and his love for people.

Tom loved kids and animals and they loved him in return. He treated everyone with respect and never said an unkind word to or about anyone. In so many ways – he was the person we all should aspire to be. He was an active member in his Bible Fellowship Group at the First Baptist Church of McKinney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. and Sybil A. Boozer and one brother, James D. Johnson. Tom considered his two greatest achievements in life to be his girls. He is survived by his daughter, Toni and son-in-law Mike Garrison; daughter, Marci and son-in-law Justin Ernst; and four beloved grandchildren Kelsey Garrison, Connor Garrison, Kylie Ernst, and Parker Ernst, all of Allen, Texas. Tom is also survived by his loving brother and sister-in-law Don and Susan Boozer of Denton, Texas.

Tom had a plethora of nephews and nieces that he loved as his own and they loved him back. He always had an encouraging word and more importantly, he took the time to talk to them about their lives. Each of them was touched by the goodness that Tom brought with him.

Visitation and funeral services will both be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, TX. Visitation will take place from 12:00 pm to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Naples Cemetery.
