Thomas Jerrell "Toby" Simpson, age 57, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at his home. Toby was born August 22, 1958, in Charleston, South Carolina to James Robert "Buddy" Simpson and Betty Katherine Waldon Simpson.

Toby was a Baptist. He was a jack-of-all-trades, but worked mainly in the oilfield and as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard, having served for 12 years. Toby was a member of the Cossack Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, and being outdoors.

Toby was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Simpson.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Simpson of Mt. Pleasant; mother, Betty Simpson of New Boston; one son, Thomas Simpson of Austin; one daughter and son-in-law, Amie and Paul Kubeczka of Brenham; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sue Simpson of Leary, and Corbett and Glenda Simpson of New Boston; one grandson, Aiden Soliz; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the funeral home chapel with Thomas Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bryans Mill.
