Johnnie Richard "Toby" Culver, better known as Bobo to many, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was born June 16, 1928 to Finus Culver and Bert Raney in the Lone Star Community.

He attended schools in Lone Star, Cookville, and Mt. Pleasant. Toby served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952. He retired from Lone Star Steel in 1982 after 37 years. He was not one to not work, so he worked for Joe Payne Ranch, Brahma Mart, and Naples Hardware until he fully retired in 2011 at the age of 83.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Omaha, past Master of David Elliott Masonic Lodge #364, Scottish Rite, and Order of the Eastern Star.

Toby was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Louise Franklin; four brothers, Ralph, Orville, Bo, and Guy Culver; and one daughter-in-law, Donna Culver.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ethna Tucker Culver of Omaha; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Mike Browning of Mt. Pleasant and Connie and Bryan Baldwin of Mt. Pleasant; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie and Cynthia Culver of Sanford, Florida; seven grandchildren, Jennifer and Alan Charlton, Jessica and Patrick Hughes, Micki and Bud Posey, Billi and Jimmy Thomas, Trevor Baldwin, Georgette Baldwin, and Aaron Kaleta; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky and Berl Munn; numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church Omaha with Revs. Keith Lauter, Nolan Richey, and Tom Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery.
