Thomas Perry "Tommy" Griffin, age 77, of Naples, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his home, with his wife at his side. Tommy was born January 5, 1948, in Atlanta, Texas, to Harvey Curtis Griffin and Mattie Clea Wallace Griffin.
Tommy had a passion for hunting and fishing which he learned from his father. A quick wit was one of his greatest traits for which he will always be remembered. Tommy graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1966, where he played football and ran track. He will always be known as a true Brahma fan. He attended Texarkana Junior College in 1967. After that, he joined the US Navy and was sent to Vietnam. He served in the Navy for four years. Tommy was a member of the Jaycees and a staunch member of the American Legion.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. and Mattie Clea Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Griffin; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Odis Cline; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Doug Phillips; one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Tricia Griffin; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Rob and Amy Holder and Chance and Tamirra Holder; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Catie Holder and Toby Byrd; thirteen grandchildren, Cross Holder, Maddy Vuono, Caleb Vuono, Abby Holder, Blake Phillips, Bailey Phillips, Lake Griffin, Noah Griffin, Kyla Griffin, Emeline Holder, Landon Holder, Tamia Holman, and Ricky Bright; one niece, Shelley Derrick and husband Steve; one great-niece, Heather Wood and husband Jordan, two great great nephews, Cutter and Brett Wood; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Naples with Chaplain Rusty Fennell and Rev. Janet Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Naples or to the Omaha Cemetery Association.
