Vernon Edward Weeks, age 56, of Naples, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015, in a Tyler, Texas hospital. Vernon was born September 3, 1959, in Baytown, Texas to William Edward Weeks and Charlotte LaVern Davis Weeks.
Vernon was a forklift operator at Priefert Manufacturing in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was the song leader at First Baptist Church in Naples, Texas. He was a member of the Boys Club of America, sang in the Weeks Family Singers group, and umpired various athletic functions over the years. He enjoyed painting and drawing, playing golf, and he also enjoyed carpentry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Shari Weeks of Naples; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Phillip and Karen Weeks of Meridian, Idaho, Dale Weeks of Texarkana, Texas, and Glenn and April Weeks of Denton, Texas; six nieces and nephews; three great-nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Naples, with Bro. Barry Brown and Bro. Brian Bockmon officiating.
