W.E. Rogers, age 88, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, in Tyler, Texas. He was born December 20, 1926, in the Cornett community outside of Naples, to Olice and Lula Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was a United States Navy Veteran, having served during WWII. He retired from Brown and Root, where he was a millwright. W.E. was a member at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Omaha. He was a member of the American Legion, and he was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman.
Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clyde Rogers and Lindsey Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Patsy Rogers of Omaha, Texas; one son, Jimmy Rogers of Valley View, Texas; one grandson, Jimmy Paul Rogers; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Harrison Funeral Chapel in Naples, Texas. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the funeral home.
