Herman "Wes" Vissering passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jessie Vissering; three sons, Jack Wesley Vissering, Michael W. Kinnaird, Sr., and David W. Kinnaird, Sr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and R.L. Turner.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Nell Vissering; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Gary Russell of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Pam Harty of Allen, Texas; one brother, John Paul and Wilma Jo Vissering of Naples, Texas; grandchildren, T. Paul Loving, Dana and Michael Davis, Lori and Vince Merryman, Wiley Wesley Joyner, Billy Jack and Chelsi Vissering, Sara Vissering Scott, and Brandon Kinnaird; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Wes was born in Naples, graduated from Naples High School and remained a lifelong resident of Naples. He was employed by Lone Star Steel Co. for 39 years, and also raised cattle for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing dominoes with various family members, playing cards with friends, dancing to country-western music and going to Sunday School and Church. He was a member of the Wesley Men's Sunday School Class and First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs, Texas. Wes was a real people person, made friends easily and never met a stranger. He will be lovingly remembered by many people.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs, Texas, with Rev. Ed Blackstone and Jonathan Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow at Vissering Cemetery in Naples, Texas.
