William Burton Swafford, age 73, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 in Texarkana, Texas. William was born July 19, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Willis Burton Swafford and Thelma Lorraine Stroud Swafford.
William was a member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the David Elliott Masonic Lodge where he was a Past Master, The Shriners, Scottish Rite, and the Pewitt FFA Alumni. He also volunteered as a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army. William enjoyed working with cattle, fishing, visiting with people, and traveling. He also loved history.
William was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Henrietta Swafford.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sue Swafford of Omaha; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lacey Swafford of Omaha; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Steve Hill of Wake Forest, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Emily Swafford, Will Swafford, Lauren Swafford, Allyson Swafford, Logan Smith, Seth Robertson, Eli Robertson, Andy Hill, and Abby Hill; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Nolan Richey and Ray Richey officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Concord Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund or the Shriners.
