Willie James Palmore, Sr., age 84, of Naples, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Willie James was born January 7, 1937 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Willie Odis Palmore and Lucile Minnie Vaught.

Willie James was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Naples.  He retired from Day and Zimmerman where he worked as a line supervisor.  He was a former mayor of Naples and also a former city councilman.  Willie James was a lifetime farmer and rancher.  He was a member of the American Brahman Breeders Association and Texas Farm Bureau.  While in high school, Willie James received his American Farmer Degree through FFA.  Willie James was an avid Texas Rangers fan, and watched them any time they were on TV.

Willie James was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Palmore, earlier this year; his parents; and one brother-in-law, John Points.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Palmore of Naples; one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Frank Tritico of Sparta, Tennessee; one sister, Jean Jacobs of Dallas, Texas; one sister-in-law, Barbara Points of Tyler, Texas; two grandchildren, Amelia Tritico and Frank Michael Tritico, III and wife Shea; one great-granddaughter, Emily Tritico; two nieces, Caye Sullivan and Stacy Morse; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Rev. Jay Barnes and Yanckton Hatten officiating.  Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Naples or the Concord Cemetery Association.
