James Windell Cobb, age 80, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Longview, Texas. Windell was born June 4, 1936 in Naples, Texas to Walter Cobb and Ethel Daisy Moore Cobb.

Windell was a member at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church, the church his father founded. He was a carpenter for several years at Day and Zimmerman before starting Windell's Body Shop. He was very active with the Naples Watermelon Festival and the Naples Boots and Saddle Club. He was one of the founding members of the Naples Trail Riders. Windell was formerly the Naples Citizen of the Year. He enjoyed gardening and farming. He could build anything he set his mind to build.

Windell was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifton Cobb and JD Cobb; and two sisters, Lucille Cobb and Paralee Jacobs.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patsy Cobb of Naples; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wade Cobb of Naples and J.P and Gina Cobb of Naples; six grandchildren, Justin Cobb and wife Jordan, Tanner Cobb, Tyler Cobb, Jeremy Mitchell and wife Holly, Shawn Mitchell, and Brittany Collins and husband Armand; eight great-grandchildren, Carlee Cobb, Kason Cobb, Braylee Cobb, Ava Collins, Addyson Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell, Chloe Mitchell, and Camilla Collins; numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ronnie Jacobs and Bro. Bryan Peck officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Naples.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Naples Watermelon Festival Association or Cypress Basin Hospice.
