Elna Yvonne Frost McCoy, age 99, of Bryans Mill, Texas, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at her home. Yvonne was born April 15, 1918 in Douglassville, Texas to James Clarence Frost and Lillian Deborah Gholson Frost.

Yvonne was a member at Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Douglassville. She retired from Paul Pewitt High School where she taught home economics. She was a member of the Morris County Retired Teachers Association. Yvonne enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She loved people and loved entertaining friends.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Leo McCoy, in 2007; parents, Clarence and Lilly Frost; one son, Jimmy McCoy; two brothers, J.B. Frost and Roy Frost; and two sisters, Juanita McWilliams and Elta Thompson.

Surviving family members include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Beverly McCoy of Dallas; two grandchildren, Jason McCoy and Melinda Smith and husband Jamie; three great-grandchildren, Charlie Smith, Ashley Smith, and Andrew Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Chapel United Methodist Church of the Union Chapel Cemetery.
